That’s not enough information to make a confident, informed decision – not when you’re trying to understand whether a plugin is genuinely maintained, whether it has a history of security vulnerabilities, or how it stacks up against the alternatives on any meaningful metric.
PluginFind exists to fix that.
What PluginFind Is
PluginFind is an independent WordPress Plugin Intelligence Platform. We analyse every plugin in the WordPress ecosystem and turn raw repository data into something genuinely useful – verifiable, consistent, comparable intelligence that helps you make better decisions, faster.
At the heart of it is the PF Score: our proprietary algorithm that combines active install counts, user ratings, update frequency, and live vulnerability data into a single objective score for every plugin. The same calculation, applied consistently, across the entire ecosystem. No opinion. No sponsorship. No agenda.
What the Platform Delivers
Every plugin page on PluginFind surfaces the data points that actually matter: install counts, ratings, download figures, vulnerability histories, and WordPress and PHP compatibility requirements – drawn from the WordPress.org repository and Wordfence Intelligence vulnerability data, and presented in a way the official repository simply doesn’t.
We’re also building an editorial content layer – in-depth guides, comparisons, and analysis – that applies the same data-first approach to the bigger questions WordPress users face when choosing and evaluating plugins.
Ecosystem Intelligence, Not Just Plugin Data
PluginFind doesn’t just analyse individual plugins — it tracks the health of the entire WordPress plugin ecosystem over time.
We capture over 35 data points across every plugin in our database, and we use that data to generate ongoing reports on the state of the ecosystem as a whole. How many plugins are actively maintained? How is vulnerability disclosure trending? Which categories are growing, and which are stagnating? What does the distribution of install counts actually look like across 60,000-plus plugins?
These aren’t one-off snapshots. We track changes day on day, week on week, month on month — building a picture of the ecosystem that gets more valuable the longer we run it. Our statistics pages publish that data openly, with trend analysis and year-on-year comparisons, so that researchers, journalists, and WordPress professionals have a reliable, citable source for ecosystem-level data.

Who’s Behind PluginFind
PluginFind is a project by One Wavelength Ltd – a UK-based digital agency with over two decades of experience delivering web projects for some of the world’s most recognised brands.
The site was founded by Andy Swindell, Director and Strategy Lead at 1WL. Andy has been working in the web industry since 2003, with a background spanning large-scale digital projects, multinational website builds, and ERP integrations for clients including Weetabix, Fujitsu, Toshiba, and Intel. That experience – and a long-held frustration with the gap between the quality of the WordPress plugin ecosystem and the quality of the tools available to navigate it – is what led to PluginFind.
We think WordPress users deserve better intelligence than they’re currently getting. This is our contribution to that.
